Tip: We recommend adding whole, fresh fruit to your brekkie bowl to sweeten it up naturally. Remember that toppings like Honey or Maple Syrup are very similar to sugar just with an ‘undercover’ name.

Tip: Breakfast is the meal we spend the least time planning for and eating, yet it’s so important for kick-starting our metabolism and keeping us energised throughout the day. The key to eating a healthy breakfast is to plan ahead! Ensuring you have healthy staples in the pantry and fridge (e.g. oats, Greek yoghurt, fresh fruit, wholegrain bread, eggs, avocado) will help to avoid last minute take-away options on the way to work.

“My favourite breakfast is homemade granola with soy milk and berries. It is easy to make and I love having this in the mornings.”

“Many people dread eating breakfast. However, it can be more enjoyable by mixing things up. A great tip is to have variety of options throughout the week – you could also try smoothies, fruit toppings on toast, breakfast wraps or even yoghurt and muesli cups. It is important to prep ahead – so be adventurous with different foods and creative in the kitchen.”

“For me breakfast is all about setting a solid foundation to fuel my day’s activities. If I’m planning a heavy session in the gym or going for a long run I will include some good quality carbohydrates like grainy sourdough or oats, on other days I like to focus on lots of protein and healthy fats. I absolutely adore the combination of avocado and egg – here I’ve teamed it with a delicious sourdough bread and a sprinkle of pepitas.”
